Blocky alternatives for Shopify

Blocky handles country and IP rules well, so merchants usually start looking elsewhere for one of two reasons: the traffic causing trouble keeps changing IP, or a rule caught someone it should not have.

Below are the options worth knowing about, including what each is genuinely best at. Cordon is ours, and we have said where it is not the right answer.

The catch: Like every blocking app on the App Store, Cordon runs as JavaScript in the visitor's browser. A raw HTTP client that never loads your pages (a plain script pulling /products.json) is outside what any of these apps can reach. 2. Blockify

One of the longest-running country and IP blockers on the App Store.

Best for: Merchants who want a well-known name with a large review base and straightforward country and IP rules.

The catch: Rule-based blocking is only as current as the data behind it. Check how fresh its VPN and proxy data is if disguised traffic is your actual problem.

3. Securify

A bundle of store-protection features, including content protection, in a single app.

Best for: Merchants who specifically want right-click and copy disabling alongside visitor rules, and prefer one app for both.

The catch: Breadth over depth. Content protection deters casual copying but does not stop automated collection, which is a different problem.

4. Shopify's built-in tools

Shopify Payments fraud analysis, manual order cancellation, and market/region settings.

Best for: Merchants whose problem is fraudulent orders rather than unwanted traffic. If you only need to stop selling somewhere, Markets does that for free.

The catch: None of it stops a visitor arriving, browsing or scraping. It acts at the order, not at the visit. If your problem is traffic rather than orders, this is not the tool.

5. Your own CDN rules (headless only)

Cloudflare or similar rules in front of a Hydrogen or custom storefront you control.

Best for: Headless merchants. If you own the infrastructure in front of your storefront, this is genuinely the strongest option available, stronger than any app here.

The catch: Only possible on a headless build. On a standard Shopify storefront you cannot put your own CDN in front of the platform, so this option is simply not available.

So which should you pick?

Staying put is a legitimate answer if your rules are geographic, stable, and working. Switching apps to solve a problem you do not have costs you a migration for nothing.

Move if the traffic you are trying to stop returns from a new address every time. That is a data-freshness problem, and no amount of rule-writing fixes it.

Move for a different reason if a rule blocked a real customer. Look for an app that treats iCloud Private Relay and mobile carrier networks as ordinary shoppers, because treating them as proxies is the single most common cause of blocked genuine buyers.

Yes. Cordon has a free plan that covers country, IP and ASN rules. Shopify's own Markets settings can also restrict which regions can buy, at no cost, if stopping orders rather than traffic is what you need.

Can I switch from Blocky without downtime?

Yes. These apps work independently, so you can install a second one, rebuild your rules, confirm it behaves as you expect, and only then uninstall the first. Running both briefly is safe; the stricter rule simply wins.

Will blocking traffic hurt my SEO?

It will if the app blocks search crawlers by mistake, which is the most common way this goes wrong. Cordon always allows verified search engines and AI crawlers and cannot be configured to block them, so a country or ASN rule cannot accidentally deindex you. Check that whichever app you pick does the same.

Can any of these stop my product feed being downloaded?

No, and be wary of any app that says it can. Shopify serves that file itself, and it is fetched without loading your store, so a browser-based app never sees the request.
